A conference for multicultural and multiethnic ministries … equipping the leaders who serve in them.
“Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice.” Isaiah 42:11b
The Salvation Army will be hosting The ONE Conference: Voices October 16-18, 2015 at the Wonderland Camp and Conference Center, Salem, WI. This is a biennial multicultural ministries conference now in its 15th year! The theme for the conference is “Voices” and its purpose is to equip leaders for multicultural and multiethnic ministries, and to empower them with essential resources for the realities of a culturally diverse and rapidly changing world.
We anticipate that the conference will draw participation from a culturally diverse community represented within The Salvation Army. Also, its leadership will include pastors, pioneers, and practitioners within multiethnic and multicultural settings. We expect that this conference will provide a time of learning and listening together; collaborating around contemporary issues and challenges; and giving space to listen intentionally to the diverse voices among us–to listen intently, to listen carefully, to listen well. And through their voices, to discern how God is calling us forward.
The conference will gather around several themes:
Worship & Biblical Foundations Cultural Intelligence for Cross-Cultural Leadership Development Justice and Reconciliation Cultural Intelligence for Multicultural & Multiethnic Ministry The New Immigrant Youth & Young Adult Ministry Ministry with Asian & Hispanic Populations (Spanish Language)
